Guests and Visitors

In the period 1990-1999 about 170 international students, postgraduates, university faculty members and other scholars from more than 20 different countries visited the Wittgenstein Archives. Countries of origin of European researchers included Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Esthonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ukraine and UK. Researchers were also received from as far away as Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and USA.

Several fields of science were represented such as architecture, editorial philology, information technology, linguistics, philosophy and the social sciences.

Several doctoral theses were written by guest researchers on location at the Wittgenstein Archives in Bergen.
