Presentations and Publications (tba).
Kjell S. Johannessen is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bergen. Although he maintains a comprehensive field of philosophical engagement, his publications are for the most part within the areas of the Philosophy of Art, the Philosophy of Language and the Philosophy of Science. Johannessen is primarily known for shaping the theoretical foundations for what is internationally referred to as the Bergen School of Aesthetics, his praxis-interpretation of Wittgensteins Philosophical Investigations, and his contributions to the analysis of what in the Philosophy of Science is called tacit knowledge.
Johannessen has written or edited 17 books and contributed about 50 articles to international, Nordic and Norwegian journals and anthologies. A list of central publications within the aforementioned areas can be found at: http://www.skapende.no.
Johannessen was previously Vice-Chancellor of the Nordic Summer University and leader of its program committee. He worked many years as editor of Norsk filosofisk tidsskrift (Norwegian Journal of Philosophy). He has also, in cooperation with professor Bo Göranzon, for many years led a doctoral course in the Philosophy of Science at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm and Arbetslivcentrum (Stockholm) supporting local and international cooperation and exchange between educational institutions and business.
