Meaning and Time: History and the Fregean Third Realm

Christian Helmut Wenzel

Abstract

I would like to point out two temporal aspects of meaning, a local and a global one.
The former is psychological and phenomenological and about the way we represent,
understand, and communicate what is meaningful in a moment of time. The latter is
historical and evolutionary and about the ways our networks of meaning develop over
long periods of time.
