Conferences and seminars

In December 2001, WAB, in cooperation with the HIT-Centre and the Philosophy Department, organized an international Wittgenstein conference in Bergen through Alois Pichler and Simo Säätelä, reflecting upon 50 years of Wittgenstein research and editing. In this context, also questions of scholarly electronic publishing were discussed. Proceedings from the 2001 conference are published in WAB's Working Papers no. 17.

WAB helped organize the Norwegian-French June 2002 Wittgenstein seminar in Skjolden, Sognefjord, Norway (org. Antonia Soulez and Arild Utaker). This seminar is part of a series of seminars on Wittgenstein, of which the first took place in 1992 (org. Paul Henry and Arild Utaker), and where WAB regularly participates and helps organize. In 2003, the seminar was held in Moulin d'Andé (org. Antonia Soulez and Arild Utaker), in 2004 in Innsbruck (org. Allan Janik, Antonia Soulez and Arild Utaker), and in 2005 in Bergen (org. Antonia Soulez and Arild Utaker). In 2006, this seminar is held in Paris and has the title «Wittgenstein in Confrontation».

In Spring 2005, a nordic Wittgenstein seminar took place in Skjolden, organized by the University of Bergen Wittgenstein Research Group through Richard Sørli and Cato Wittusen, both from the Philosophy Department.
