Philosophy and Language

Abstract

This paper comments on Rorty's evaluation of linguistic philosophy and questions
his assessment of its current situation. Taking Strawson as an example, Rorty's
speculation about the future of philosophy, which he ventures on the basis of
this assessment, is relativized. Rorty's evaluation, however, allows for
speculations about alternative developments.
