Inside Wittgenstein's Mind: Where the Aesthetic Moment in His Concept of Philosophy Arises

Abstract

Wittgenstein did not strive to produce an "artistic" philosphy as Nietzsche, Heidegger or Derrida did. His aim was to develop a craft for disabusing us of misconceptions about language that tempt us to pose philosophical questions in the first place. These include fictive natural histories which make us aware of the complexity of linguisitic practice. His tactics are closer to those of a science fiction writer than a poet.
