Wittgenstein's Nachlass Catalogue - Some Suggestions

Abstract



Starting with a short look at Wittgenstein non-philosophical Nachlass the von Wright catalogue of the philosophical papers of Wittgenstein is discussed. The difference between (physical) documents and (intended) texts is crucial for a catalogue; different cases of relations have to be decided for an electronic edition. A text-genetic map as complementary approach together with a set of Metadata of each Nachlass-item is suggested as a threefold online access to the Wittgenstein Nachlass and a backbone of an new Bergen Electronic Edition.
