In this context, a seminar is organized:Situation theory, ontologies and thematic patterns Monday, 15 June 2009, 13.15-14.30, Wittgenstein Archives, AKSIS (since 2009 "Uni Digital"), Allégt. 27, meeting room, 1st floor: The talk explores the possible formal ontology requirements for the identification of conceptual groupings in Wittgenstein. Such groupings cannot easily be recognized by standard indexing methods. A formal ontology should seek to develop methods of distinguishing and combining concepts. Situation theory is examined as a possible basis for doing this. Mark Addis is Professor of Philosophy at Birmingham City University and a visiting professor at the Institute for Philosophy and the History of Ideas at Aarhus University.
