Morals in the World-Picture

Tobias Matzner

Abstract

In this paper Wittgenstein’s thought on world-pictures in On Certainty is
combined with ideas from Hannah Arendt’s The Human Condition to get a more
refined notion of humans and their relation in the world-picture. This enables
the inclusion of moral respectively normative views into the world-picture. My
work is informed by Michael Kober’s and Andreas Krebs’ interpretations of On
Certainty as well as Seyla Benhabib’s and Dana Villa’s discussions of The Human
Condition.
